Budgens

Also on site a BP petol station and Budgens Convenience store both operated by Tice.

In February 2011 His Worship the Mayor opened Tice’s new Budgens community store.

This was the culmination of a 4 month project to more than double the size of the previous store and provide a fresh food and on site bakery offering in a convenience format.

The store employs 15 staff and is open from 7am – 10pm 7 days a week.

Founded by John Budgen in 1872, Budgens is believed to be one of the oldest supermarket brands in Great Britain. Initially a small, local grocer, the company has expanded and over time the Budgens name appeared on a number of stores throughout the South of England, establishing a reputation for servicing the local communities around England’s high streets and suburban towns with quality products.

In 2002, Budgens became part of the Musgrave Group and today Budgens has over 180 stores, varying from petrol forecourts to neighbourhood supermarkets, which are now independently owned by our Budgens retailers.
